SQ3R IN ACTION AND REFLECTION
Was it successful?
I loved using this strategy! I had been advised that the students would read and not hold onto or comprehend the information. I chose this strategy to slow their reading and increase their thinking and digestion of the text. Expectations were modeled, good and bad. I also kept the definition and expectation of each one on the board so that students could look back in case they needed a reminder.Â
I enjoyed this strategy so much that I plan to create a poster for my classroom with the rules and definitions so that we as a class can refer back to it as a choice when it comes to annotating texts.Â
SQ3R has a lot of flexibility when it comes to how you're using it too so it can go across multiple content areas.
