Live Tweeting Assignment

Updated: Oct 25, 2022

Here I will link my twitter account where I have participated in a 'LIVE' viewing of Don Bacon and Tony Vargas!

(Heads up... Bacon has some serious attitude in the debate.)

-What did you like about this live-tweet assignment?

I actually really enjoyed this assignment and the active listening and typing aspect. I really enjoyed the challenge and would love to incorporate this into an assignment for my students! I think they could get behind the intensity of the listening and writing.

-What did you hate?

I hated not being able to say "WAIT" and write something, you have to keep going no matter what. Don't use direct quotes if you can't remember them fully. That was the most difficult part is the constantly moving conversation. Something could be said from left field and you're so thrown off you lose your rhythm. That definitely happened to me a few times, thanks Bacon.

-What did you learn about your note-taking skills?

I learned that my skills are up to par and I felt kind of cocky about it. I could see others around me thinking about responses and their words while I could just crank it out. I have always been a quick write though, I had the advantage being an ELA major.

-What would do differently for another live-tweet assignment?

I wouldn't require an actual Twitter, I was pretty annoyed having to make one. I could just have students tab for a new response rather than forcing accounts. I will be deleting it as soon as I can because I don't want to be associated with the app for personal reasons but I complied for the assignment. Thank you for the great lesson plan idea though!
